Beach cleaninng activity was organized by the High Commission as part of Swachhata Abhiyan and India@75 celebrations as it makes the beach a nicer and safer place for everyone. It is an effort towards preserving and protecting as well as improving the coastal and ocean ecosystem as trash including plastic items harm marine life and disrupt the marine life cycle. The event saw enthusiastic participation from the members of the community who came in large numbers including children.
